In this case, Dr. Dahman’s patient needed to have a root canal. The difference between his case and hundreds of others root canals Dr. Dahman performed was that this patient also had an old crown he wanted to preserve. Dr. Dahman was able to complete this difficult task and preserve the patients crown by carefully by drilling through it without cracking or otherwise ruining it. Once the patient’s root canal was competed, Dr. Dahman was able to patch the hole in the patient’s crown.
While the picture shows a properly completed root canal with tooth canals filled densely all the way to the apex of the root, the real skill here was in Dr. Dahman’s technical ability that was able to save the patient from the expense of a new crown.
